Welcome to the official blog for An Eyeball in My Garden—And Other Spine-Tingling Poems, a new children’s poetry anthology featuring 44 deliciously spooky poems written by fourteen poets from around the country. From haunted trains to funny zombies to words that begin with the letter “Q” (just making sure you didn’t doze off), we’ve explored all things that go bump in the night and let them spook us out of our socks.
We even cast a spell on the wickedly talented Johan Olander to illustrate these creepy corners of our minds. The results are fantastic! So if you’re dying to read this creepalicious book, you can purchase a copy at your local independent bookstore, or go to Amazon or B&N to order.
In the meantime, we invite you follow this blog. Here you can meet the Eyeball contributors, find out about book signings and events and visit “Spooky’s Corner,” where our own “Spooky” shares his terrifying expertise and chats with special guests, including Eyeball contributors that he’s having…er…invited for dinner. You can make a craft or recipe from “Swamp Witch Crafts" or enter an Eyeball contest to win a scream-worthy prize. All of these features, plus many more, await you here.
So, drop by often to see what we`ve scared up. And while you`re at it, tell us what SPOOKY means to you. Comment here with a description, or send us a spooky poem, story or a photo of whatever causes those hairs to stand up on your arms and in your ears. We’ll post the creepiest finds on our blog.
And if what you find makes you want to run, don’t worry. We’ll run with you.
”See” you around,
The Eyeball Squad
